Our client is a Global Asset Management firm and they are looking for a Data Govenance Analyst for APAC markets.

The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the policies and standard relating to data used in the organisation are effective and efficient. Specifically, the role will identify and report on relevant data quality metrics that increase the trust and confidence of the data supplied internally and externally.

The role forms part of the Global Data function, which is responsible for the governance, management and reporting strategy for data across the firm. The function promotes practices that improve trust in data, maximising its strategic value and minimising the risks of holding it; unifies data environments and technologies to ensure internal and external data sources are appropriately captured, joined and made available for decision support; and provides data-driven insights to our investment and business management teams through dynamic business intelligence reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of internal business operations by the use of standardised data
  • Collaborate with the business to develop data and data sets that will improve their ability to manage business processes
  • Maintain the integrity and quality of master data and data sets
  • Manage and maintain all data governance related documentation for master data such as data dictionary, KPI registers, definitions, standards, business rules, security, and process maps
  • Communicate data governance processes and ensure business partners fully understand processes and standards
  • Facilitate and promote the usage and adoption of the data governance tools, processes, standards and procedures - particularly among business users
  • Develop metrics and reports/dashboards to measure key performance indicators such as data quality, accuracy, completeness, and integrity
  • Assist with ongoing examination of current data governance practices and make recommendations to drive improvements in data governance
  • Maintain performance and reporting systems for data, ensuring the data analytics meets the firm's requirements.
  • Utilise visual scanning and data manipulation to run data checks on raw data to validate quality.
  • Collate data quality issues and drive remediation with stakeholders and data users.
Requirements

Experience

  • IT/Business/ Finance qualification
  • IT/Financial profession certification and memberships
  • Experience within the financial services industry
Technical Competence

  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Data Management and data quality concepts
  • Prior exposure to Business Intelligence tools
  • Knowledge or understanding of how master data and master data governance is used in a business context
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key systems and business domain knowledge relevant to the business
