A leading bank is looking for AVP to join their Data Management team.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing the Data Governance framework in accordance with global standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish governance for regulatory reporting data, such as defining Key Data Elements (KDEs), manage and develop the metadata, data lineage, data quality control, and data ownership, as well as operationalizing data governance practices with Collibra.
  • Involved in Data Utilization by collaborating with various business units to leverage data analytics, address business challenges, improve operational efficiencies, and drive growth opportunities.
  • Implement comprehensive Data Governance strategy including policies, guidelines, procedures and standards, to promote data quality with data governance roles and responsibilities defined (Data Owners / Stewards / Consumers), which ensures clear accountability and ownership of data assets throughout the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with data-related regulatory standards, including BCBS 239 and develop relevant policies and frameworks.
  • Maintain a data governance framework that encompasses data classifications, data dictionaries, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality controls, ensuring alignment with Global Standards.
  • Facilitate and promote the usage and adoption of the data governance tools, processes, standards and procedures e.g Collibra.
  • Support the Data Management Working Group in overseeing the progress of Data Governance initiatives and monitoring Data Quality Issue Management.
  • Develop metrics and reports / dashboards to measure key performance indicators such as data quality, accuracy, completeness.
  • Collaborate with other regional Data Management Office (DMO) to assess data literacy needs and develop targeted strategies to address them.
  • Drive the adoption of Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics Tools while guiding on the integration of analytics into strategy planning and operational process.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in data-related disciplines (e.g., Data Management, Data Governance, and Data Analytics) from in house banking environment or consulting firms.
  • Subject Matter Expertise with extensive hands-on experience in implementing data governance and management within banking and financial institutions.
  • Understanding of regulatory reporting and BCBS 239 for banks
  • Hands-on experience with data governance tools, Collibra. Knowledge of automation tools such as Alteryx would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of related ordinances (e.g., HKMA) and trends in Data Policy and Procedures.
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI and Tableau, with proven experience in developing dashboards and business reports preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, engaged with senior stakeholders and work across business units including Regulatory Reporting, Information Technology, Risk, Finance, AML/ Compliance, Audit, Operations etc.
  • Fluent English, excellent strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
