Our client is a regional bank in HK and they are looking for a leader for its data team to cope up with its business strategies and development.
Job responsibilities:
- Responsible for delivery of problem free and timely data warehouse and data mart services to business
- Overall management of resource pool to ensure it meets business demand
- Monitor and tracking overall data project portfolio and alert management for any discrepancies.
- Keep abreast of latest technology (big data, data lakes) and provide IT consultancy to business
- Oversee data architecture of the bank
- Define / approve data warehouse / datamart development methodology; standards / policy eg. Agile / waterfall; design review process
- Define/review / approve data management policy and processes
- Define / review / approve data quality management processes (profiling, analyze, clean, report)
- Perform / review on-going monitoring of the bank's data quality
- Initiate data quality project (cleansing) if required or requested by business
- Chair "Data Community User Group" to manage bank-wide data quality issues and develop data culture of the bank
- Motivate staff by providing opportunities; skill sharing and cross training
- As a member of IT architect & strategy committee provide subject matter expertise to review / signoff for strategic and large projects ; new tools, new technology and methodology (eg Agile / Scrum, cloud)
Requirements:
- Possess excellent data management, data warehouse and data analytics skills
- Possess strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Provide leadership to IT and business in data management and data quality domain
- Provide consultancy to business counterparts for any data related matters
- Have in-depth knowledge and track record in implementing data warehouse and data model
- Possess strong technical knowledge in databases and SQL languages (eg. Tableau)
- Good understanding of future technology trends in particular in big data and AI
- Maintain good relationship with IT vendors
- Possess good understanding of budgeting, project costs / benefits analysis
- Possess good resource management skill and provide cross train / up-skill to IT staff
- Minimum 15 years experience in system development as project manager or equivalent capacity in banking environment
- Minimum 10 years experience in managing data project as project manager or equivalent capacity in banking environment
