A leading bank is looking for Senior / Data Governance Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Define data strategy to establish and ensure adherence to Bank's data governance framework for data policies, standards, governance metrics, processes and data architecture
- Assist Section Head to establish the governance and quality standards for the bank's data management, aimed at strengthening the bank's competitiveness and improve customer experience through the use of data assets through:
- Maintain the Bank's Data Catalog, Business Glossary & Lineage and Data Quality Framework
- Assist Data Governance section to stay abreast of data governance best practices, local regulation and compliance
- Support in defining data strategy to establish and ensure adherence to bank's data governance framework for data policies, standards, governance metrics, processes and data architecture
- Assist in developing an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap to effectively handle data company-wide, aimed at achieving improved internal processes leading to effective cost efficiency and management
- Collaborate with all departments and assist on Data Governance onboarding, data remediation queries and CI handling
- As a mentor in coaching and developing team members
- Comply with all applicable regulations, rules, codes, guidelines and standards set by regulators and the Bank, and carry out duties with high integrity
- Adhere to all established risk control guidelines, procedures and measures to identify, assess, report, mitigate and monitor the risks involved in the day-to-day work
Requirements:
- University graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- At least 5 years' working experience in Data Governance of which 3 years in managerial level from financial services industries
- Experience of establishing and monitoring of data governance framework
- Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
- Experience of data warehouses, lakes and master data management
- Knowledge on business and operation models of banking, with thorough understanding on the local regulatory environment
- Advanced analytical skills, visualize opportunities and issues from data
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese
- Candidates with less experience will be considered as Data Governance Manager or Assistant Data Governance Manager
