Media Relations and Event Manager - Pension Services (Individual Contributor)


Reported to: Public Relations Lead


Job Responsibilities


Media Relations


  • Media Plan for eMPF Platform Promotion and Crisis Management
    • Take an active role in proposing and executing media relations management plans
    • Develop crisis communication plans to liaison with media and major stakeholders, and ensure that assets are well in place


  • Media Events
    • Organise media events, e.g., launch event, press conference, media briefing, service centre tour, etc., and identify suitable venues and arrange logistics of the events
    • Coordinate with agencies and designers (in-house and external) on development and production of event rundown and materials, e.g., speeches, press invitation, press release, presentation PowerPoints, etc. and post-event evaluation


  • Regular Media Tasks
    • Handle media enquiries and story pitching plans
    • Assist in monitoring MPF, eMPF and retirement planning news for strategy planning


  • Social Media
    • Conduct market research of social media platform guidebook and strategy, e.g., Facebook, IG and LinkedIn
    • Propose and execute social media strategy


Stakeholder Engagement


  • Engagement activity
    • Execute engagement plan with designated associations for promoting eMPF Platform
    • Prepare incentive’s redemption flow and logistic
    • Prepare post-engagement reports


  • Speaker and MC
    • Perform as MC or presenter in media and engagement activities
    • Prepare presentation materials for engagement sessions


  • Administration and budget management, and any ad-hoc works as assigned




  • Degree holder preferably in Communications, Journalism or related discipline


  • Over 8 - 10 years of experience in media relations experience in local news/ financial news media and MPF providers are an advantage. Candidate with media agency background with clear KPI definition and crisis management experiences are welcomed


  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and patient with pleasant personality and good interpersonal skills


  • Highly self-motivate, able to work independently and well organised


  • Social media knowledge is an advantage.


  • Strong negotiation, presentation and writing skills


  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese


  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and presentation tools


  • Candidate may need to work on weekend for special event
