HR Director (Multi-Strategy Investment Office)
Role Overview:
Our client is a Multi-Strategy Investment Office and they are looking for a HR Director. The HR Director will be a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, responsible for the entire human capital lifecycle across our VC, Asset Management, and Family Office divisions. You will build a cohesive culture that respects the diverse operating styles of each arm-ranging from entrepreneurial startup founders to institutional portfolio managers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Talent Acquisition: Lead end-to-end global recruitment for high-caliber investment professionals, including deal-sourcing experts for VC and risk-focused analysts for Asset Management.
  • Culture Stewardship: Define and embed a "firm-first" culture that balances the agility of a startup with the high-trust, discreet environment of a family office.
  • Incentive & Compensation Design: Partner with leadership to design complex carry-interest schemes for VC teams, performance-based bonuses for AM, and long-term stability incentives for family office staff.
  • Trusted Advisory: Serve as a confidential sounding board for the family principals and executive leadership on sensitive succession, performance, and interpersonal matters.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all HR policies meet strict financial regulatory standards (e.g., SFC) while managing payroll and benefits across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Organizational Development: Implement performance management frameworks that are objective and merit-driven, tailored to the specific KPIs of each business line.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: 10-15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally within a private equity, venture capital, or multi-family office environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; a Master's or MBA is highly preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Impeccable judgment, extreme discretion, and the "emotional intelligence" to navigate complex family and corporate dynamics.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of employment law in key financial hub (e.g. Hong Kong, China)
